As we all are waiting for the Apple’s new flagship device, the new news says that it will not be iPhone 7 as reported earlier,  as this year iPhone features will not see much upgrade from last year’s device, so as per the report Apple is going to name this year iPhone as iPhone 6 SE.

New reports claim Apple has decided to save the name iPhone 7, and instead call the new handset iPhone 6se, because it features smaller, iterative changes rather than a radical redesign.

There is a wide consensus that the phone will look very similar to the iPhone 6s, but with the antenna bands moved to the edges, a larger camera, and no 3.5mm headphone jack. Apple may also ditch the 16GB size and increase the battery size of the handset.

The news is in line with the Apple's launch of the iPhone SE last March, which was an upgraded version of the smaller iPhone 5s. And it follows suggestions that Apple would hold off its next major iPhone update until 2017 for the handset's tenth anniversary.

The Silicon Valley giant may change its product launch conventions once again this year, and release the new phones on September 16, according to prominent leaker Evan Blass, more than a week earlier than the iPhone 6s, which was released on September 25, 2015.

Naming it the 6SE fits in with those rumours. It looks like an iPhone 6, and so keeping the 6-series branding works, and adding the "SE" distinguishes it from the 6 and 6S ranges. Critically, it also ties the lineup in nicely with the iPhone SE which Apple launched earlier this year.

As for the aforementioned leak, yet again it shows three different models. There's the regular and "Plus"-sized models as well as a third model which has a dual camera system as well as the three connector dots. The connection points would presumably be used for accessories like the smart keyboard currently available for the iPad Pro.

iPhone 6 SE (iPhone 7) to be released on September 16

Earlier this week, tipster Evan Blass leaked that Apple would look to unveil the upcoming iPhone 7 in the week of September 12. Now, he clarifies that he meant the retail availability of the smartphone, and not the actual launch event. He further states that the iPhone 7 will hit store shelves on September 16 specifically. Meanwhile, a separate leak also indicates that the upcoming iPhone, because of minimal design iterations, may just be called iPhone 6SE, instead of the iPhone 7.

As mentioned, Apple may be putting the next iPhone on shelves as soon as September 16. This means that the launch event will be much earlier. Typically, Apple keeps a two-week breather between the launch event and retail release, which means either Apple will unveil the iPhone 7 in August end, or the beginning of September. If Apple would look to stick to its traditional release in September, then presumably it should host the event sometime on September 5 or September 6. However, this is just pure speculation and we suggest you take it with a pinch of salt.
