Lenovo Vibe K5 Note with metal build coming on July 20, Confirmed!
Chinese tech company Lenovo has taken to micro-blogging website Twitter to announce that it will launch the Vibe K4 Note successor, aka the Vibe K5 Note in India next week. The company had launched the Vibe K5 Note first in China, and only recently in Thailand. The phone is a stark departure from the Vibe K4 Note from a design point per se, and features a premium all-metal body and rear-mounted fingerprint t scanner. The Vibe K4 Note was all-plastic.

The Vibe K5 Note has a 5.5-inch fullHD LTPS display with a 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor coupled with Mali-T860 GPU and 2GB/3GB of RAM. The phone comes with 16GB of internal memory which is further expandable by up to 128GB via microSD card slot. The dualSIM device supports 4G LTE (VoLTE-ready) and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Vibe UI.

Lenovo Vibe K5 Note features

On the photography front, the Vibe K5 Note features a 13-megapixel rear camera, supplemented with an 8-megapixel selfie camera up front. It also features a 1.5W speaker at the back with Dolby ATMOS surround sound support, and a fingerprint scanner placed below the rear camera.

The smartphone is backed by a 3,500mAh battery with fast charging support, and also unlike its predecessor, boasts a metal body. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and VoLTE. On the software front, the smartphone launched in China ran on Android Lollipop, but we expect the device launched in India to run on Android Marshmallow wrapped under Vibe UI.

Lenovo Vibe K5 Note price

The K5 Note was launched in China with a price tag of 1,099 Yuan, which is approximately Rs 11,300. Looking at the set of specifications and features, we expect the Vibe K5 Note to be priced around Rs 12,000 as well. This will put the smartphone up against the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and the LeEco Le 2 among others, and Lenovo will hope to replicate the success of the Vibe K3 Note, something that last year’s smartphone failed to do.
