Xiaomi Mi Notebook and Mi Notebook Pro: Specs, Price and Availability
Following the footprints of Apple, the Chinese company is all set to enter into the PC Market with the New Notebook launch (Mostly on 27th of July 2016).

As far as the confirmation of new is concerned, it is not yet official from Xiaomi, but we’ve seen a lot of evidence recently that Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi might be eyeing the PC market, and now we have more info on what the Mi laptop might look like – if it does indeed exist. The supposed specifications, pricing, and a few renders come from an allegedly leaked presentation, possibly for Xiaomi’s July 27th press event, according to GizmoChina.

If we believe the slides shared by the website, there will actually be two models of the Mi laptop upon release. The first is the Pro version, which features an Intel Core i7-6700HQ, a quad-core chip we’ve seen a lot of lately, backed up by 16GB of DDR4 memory, and a 512GB SSD. The Pro version also packs in dedicated graphics, in the form of an Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M with 4GB of visual memory. That should be enough for gaming at 1080p, but not enough to game smoothly at the 15.6-inch screen’s native 4K resolution.

Ports on Xiaomi Notebook

With only one angle visible, we might be looking at two USB ports on one side— one clearly being the USB Type-C port. This suggests that the Mi Notebook Pro and even the base version will support Type-C charging along with external connections. We are also expecting one more output— making two USB 3.0 ports, evident on this lineup. A combo jack is also expected.

Display of Xiaomi Notebook

Both the versions of Mi Notebook will be offering Full HD display as nothing much has been revealed regarding the availability of 2K touch panels. If Xiaomi is keenly following the likes of MacBook Pro, touch support will certainly be out of equation. However, we are expecting something more than 300-nits of display and at least a 90 percent color gamut on these models.

Specs and Performance of Xiaomi Notebook

While the Mi Notebook Pro will come with the Skylake Intel Core i7 processor, the base variant is expected to offer the i5 processor which was leaked exclusively by us. The latter is expected to pack in 8GB DDR4 RAM followed by the 256GB SSD. Mi Notebook Pro on the other hand will feature 16GB DDR4 RAM and 512 SSD. Games will clock faster frame rates with the GTX 970M GPU and 4GB DDR5 graphics memory— as confirmed on the Pro version.

Prices of Xiaomi Notebook

The Pro version is priced at ¥6,699, according to the slides. That’s about $1,003 in U.S. dollars, but it’s hard to say if that price will translate. If it did, it would be remarkably inexpensive for the hardware.

The basic version is powered instead by a more modest Intel Core i5-6200U, a dual-core chip with a 2.3GHz Base Clock and Hyper-Threading, alongside 8GB of RAM. It lacks dedicated graphics, but makes up for it with a 256GB SSD. The slides don’t detail the lower-end screen’s resolution, but we doubt it will also be 4K. This version costs just ¥3,999, or about $599. That price would also be quite low.
