The devices are powered with made in India features, ‘S-Power Planning' and 'S-Secure' for smart power management and increased privacy and security on your smartphones respectively.
While launching the device Manu Sharma Vice President, Mobiles Business, Samsung Electronics India, said “Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime is already available in the market and we are getting a great response. Customers are willing to upgrade to the J Prime series from the older J series smartphones. The J7 Prime and J5 Prime would be the largest selling devices in the mid-budget segment.”
Manu also added “When it comes to styling, the J Prime devices have a metal unibody design, fingerprint sensor, and more powerful hardware. The A series consists of smartphones that are built of metal and glass, used in our flagship series. The J7 Prime and J5 Prime are a notch below company’s A series and a notch above the J series.”

Coming Back to the devices J7 prime has got upgrade Storage and RAM capacity to what its successor use to offer, the storage has been upgraded to 32 GB compared to 16 GB, which can be expandable up to 256GB with dedicated MicroSD card slot, while RAM has been upgraded to 3GB compared to 2GB from the last edition.
Front Camera has been upgraded to 8 MP compared to the 5 MP of the last edition, supported by 13 MP rear camera. The dual-SIM device packs a 3,300 mAh battery.
Meanwhile, Galaxy J5 Prime comes with a five-inch HD display, a 1.4Ghz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard memory (expandable up to 256GB).
The device comes with a 2,400 mAh battery. It has a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter.
Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime and J5 Prime has been launched in India. The smartphones cost Rs 18,490 and Rs 14,490 respectively. The smartphones feature a metal unibody design and fingerprint scanner. The J7 Prime is already up for sale and J5 Prime will be available by the end of this month.
