Google is all set to launch its own-branded smartphones at the October 4 event next week, expected to be called the Pixel and Pixel XL. These smartphones, said to be codenamed Sailfish and Marlin, have been the subject of innumerable leaks for several months now - letting us know what Google's new smartphone duo will look like, and the innards they will pack. Now, we have been treated to 360-degree press renders of the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.

The more compact Pixel phone is heavily rumored to sport a 5.0-inch screen, but that may not really be the case. According to a “joint” leak between Onleaks and Android Authority, the handset “measures at [5.66 in x 2.73 in x 0.28 in]143.8 mm x 69.5 mm x 7.3 mm at its thinnest point (the bottom) while it is [0.33 in]8.5 mm at the thickest point (the top).” Taking these measurements at face value, for the sake of illustrating one possible scenario, would pin the screen of the Google Pixel at 5.1 inches, instead of the widely rumored 5.0 inches. Using these dimensions, we can also determine that the top and bottom bezels of the phone — since so many are concerned about their size — will both be approximately 0.61 inches high (15.5 mm). To put this into perspective, the bottom bezel of the Nexus 5X measures at 0.65 inches (16.6 mm), while the top one measures at 0.57 inches (14.6 mm).

Earlier, an image was leaked on the Internet showing the new Pixel XL to have a home screen just like that of its new Pixel Launcher to give a fresh look to its new range of smartphones. The new icons are now solid filled instead of plain borders at the bottom. The image also shows a gradient wallpaper, unlike the blue-coloured one on the earlier leaked image of the Pixel.

To recall, the smartphones - Pixel and Pixel XL - are said to share a number of specifications, with Android 7.1 Nougat to power both of them out-of-the-box. The reported specifications for the Pixel XL will include a 5.5-inch QHD display, quad-core 2.0GHz 64-bit processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of inbuilt storage, a 3450mAh battery, a 12MP rear camera, and an 8MP front camera. Both smartphones are expected to bear a headphone jack on the top, a fingerprint scanner on the rear, and a USB Type-C port at the bottom. Both of them were reported to lack the IP67 certification for water and dust resistance.

The Google Pixel (Sailfish) is expected to sport 5-inch full-HD display with 440ppi pixel density; a quad-core 64-bit quad-core processor; 4GB of RAM; 32GB storage; 12-megapixel rear camera; 8-megapixel front camera; Bluetooth 4.2, and a 2770mAh battery.
