Samsung Galaxy S8: Samsung Accidentally reveled new Flagship?
As Samsung gear ups to launch its new flagship, which is expected to announce at MWC 2017 – Galaxy S8. As per the fresh leak, the device will be available for a customer on 29th March 2017.

As per the standard practice ahead of the launch of any device, we get lots of rumors and leaks, and Samsung Galaxy S8 is not away from it. We’ve come to know quite a few things about the device from the leaks. Now, a report in GSM Arena claims an anonymous case maker has sent 3D renders of the upcoming Galaxy S8 to the site which confirm the lack of a front home button, dual rear camera setup and more.

But the new leak source about the device is none other than Samsung itself. The company’s screen-manufacturing arm, Samsung Display, has published two short advertisements showing off the capabilities of its displays. But what’s interesting is that the handset depicted in both videos looks very similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8 leaks we’ve seen so far.

The most notable feature is the lack of Home button, which is a design change widely tipped to be introduced on the Galaxy S8.

As reported earlier through different leaks, it’s expected that Samsung plans to integrate the functionality of the Home button into the display. This would involve embedding an optical fingerprint sensor below the glass on the phone. An advantage of this design shift is that the thickness of the bezel could be reduced significantly, as you can see in the videos.

Other than these below are some more details from the different leaks about the device.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Selfie Camera, Iris Scanner

Beginning with the camera, South Korean site ETNews reports that Samsung is looking to improve Samsung Galaxy S8 front camera, and is expected to introduce autofocus for its selfie lens as well - a first for the company if true - but not the first time this functionality is being rumored. Furthermore, the report tips that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will see the iris recognition feature that was first introduced in the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. The iris recognition feature will allow users to unlock their smartphone just by looking at it.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Dimensions

The Samsung Galaxy S8's dimensions have also been unveiled. According to GSMArena, the big Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus measures 152.38x78.51x7.94mm, while the Samsung Galaxy S8 measures at 140.14x72.20x7.30mm. The Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus variant is significantly larger than the predecessor Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The dimensions tip screen sizes of 6.3-inch and 5.7-inch for the Galaxy S8 Plus and the Galaxy S8, in line with a previous leak tipping 6.2-inch and 5.7-inch screen sizes respectively.

Price of Samsung Galaxy S8

A recent leak on Twitter by Ricciolo suggests that the much awaited Samsung Galaxy S8 will just be showcased at the Mobile World Congress 2017 and the real launch date of the phone will be on 29th March 2017.

In his tweet, he said that a 'little bird' told him that. This twitter account has been taking credit for putting out some credible information in the past. But we do take this with a bit of scepticism. We think that if Samsung will showcase the phone at MWC 2017, they would want to play it big at the biggest mobile conference in the world.

The tweet also suggests that the device will be priced at $849, that's roughly Rs 60,000.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Model Number

Lastly, a Chinese tipster has tipped that the model numbers for Galaxy S8 will be SM-G9500/SM-G950X, and for the Galaxy S8 Plus it will be SM-G9550/SM-G955X. The base model number is for the Chinese market, and the model number with 'X' will be replaced by specific numbers depending on regions and carriers.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to have thin top and bottom bezels, with no buttons for navigation. The smartphone's display is tipped to integrate 3D Touch functionality, an on-display optical fingerprint scanner, and a virtual assistant called Bixby is also expected to be introduced.

Of course, Samsung Display’s video isn’t necessarily representative of any Samsung Mobile design plans, so take this report with a pinch of salt. While there’s no shortage of Galaxy S8 rumours, it’s still too early for us to say for sure what Samsung has planned for its next flagship.
