In-depth details and specifications of iPhone 8 leaked
iPhone 8 or iPhone X whatever you call it, is approx six months away from the reality and every day some new rumor or leak is piling up.  This year Apple is celebrating the tenth anniversary of iPhone and it is expected to launch it with great features and with a bigger upgrade on the design front.

As we said earlier Plenty of rumors and leaks have already provided unconfirmed information about Apple’s 2017 flagship, iPhone 8. In the recent report by market research firm TrendForce on Tuesday issued a new research note based on supply chain information that dives deep into the hardware and design of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 7s models supposed to launch this fall.

One of the three new devices from Apple will be a top-of-line model with a 5.8-inch AMOLED display that is 2K in resolution. The display won't be curved due to alleged issues with the 3D glass in terms of production yield and drop test results.

As often rumored, the physical Home button will be removed with its functionality embedded into the display. This could result in a display aspect ratio exceeding 2:1 and an overall body size similar to the 4.7-inch iPhone.

iPhone 8 Features

TrendForce says the high-end iPhone will have 3GB of mobile DRAM and come with two storage options: 64GB or 256GB.

As reported earlier today, the iPhone is said to integrate 3D Sensing technology that could provide facial recognition and augmented reality features.

The other two models Apple is planning to unveil will be minor upgrades from the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. They will have the same screen sizes, LCD displays, 256GB storage options, 3GB of RAM for the 5.5-inch model and 2GB of RAM for 4.7-inch model.

Specification of iPhone 8
TrendForce also said that iPhone 8 display will not feature curved edges, as “there are issues with the 3D glass regarding production yield and drop test results.” The iPhone 8 is expected to have 2.5D glass on the front, just like current models. The iPhone 8 will also pack 3D sensing technology that can be used for facial recognition and augmented reality (AR) features. A separate report from top Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo provides more details on that front.

The new 5.8-inch model with the OLED display is again predicted to cost over $1000 while Apple may price the 4.7-inch model more economically.

TrendForce estimates that the iPhone 8 will drive “a huge wave of replacement demand,” as existing iPhone users who have not upgraded since 2014 might be attracted to the “significant innovations” in the upcoming new iPhone.
