Mi 6 Plus spotted on Chinese certification site

The complete absence of any mention of the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus during the April 19 Mi 6 launch event left many people puzzled. Xiaomi was widely expected to announce the Mi 6 Plus alongside the Mi 6 at the event.

There is good news for Phablet lovers desperately waiting for the Mi 6 Plus. The smartphone has been spotted in a 3C certification listing with a model number of "MDE40".

Xiaomi Mi 6 specifications

The Xiaomi Mi 6 is powered by Qualcomm's latest processor - the Snapdragon 835 paired with the Adreno 540 GPU, 6GB of RAM and a 3,350mAh battery.

Additionally, the Mi 6 features a 5.15-inch 1080p display and does not come with a headphone jack - audio is routed through the USB Type-C port. Design wise, the Mi 6 comes with a stainless steel frame sandwiched between two layers of glass (on the front and back).

On the imaging front, the Xiaomi Mi 6 comes with a dual camera setup at the rear - a 12MP wide-angle sensor with 4-axis optical image stabilization and a 12MP telephoto lens. The telephoto lens allows for 2X optical lossless zoom. On the front, there is an 8MP camera for selfies.

The fingerprint sensor is embedded underneath the front glass layer. The Xiaomi Mi 6 is also splash resistant with all openings, including the SIM tray sealed and protected from splashes of water.
