Latest rumors about Google Pixel 2
Google's original Pixel smartphone is so good that it could be easy to forget to check the latest rumors surrounding its successor, which we'll call the "Pixel 2" for now.

While the rumor mill doesn't focus as much on Google's Pixel phones as much as it does on popular devices like the next iPhone or Galaxy phone, there still are a few rumored details worth sharing.

Overall, it looks like we can expect some decent improvements over the original Pixel, including its camera and design. We're also expecting Google to fill some gaps in features, like water resistance, in the upcoming Pixel 2, too.

The latest Pixel rumors

PC World reported that Google retired its Nexus line of phones last year in favor of creating a new set of handsets. With the release of the #Pixel 2, Google improved both the specs and the cameras on its devices to give users a better experience and propel it to the head of the class in Android phones.

Users may see changes in the design and display of the Pixel 2. Both LG and Samsung introduced a bezel slimming design to their latest high-end phones. Now Google may have offered $900 million to invest in the LG display. This would ensure that Google has enough OLED displays for the Pixel. Since the company is focusing on LG's flexibility display division, it would mean a curved display for the phone. The change will only apply to the larger Pixel phone and not the smaller version, which has a 4.97-inch 1080p display. The larger version of the phone will offer a 5.9-inch display with a 1440p OLED display. The glass window will be smaller, and it won't cover the fingerprint display.

Other features users may look forward to are a difference in specs and sound. The top Pixel version offered a Snapdragon 821 chip, and users can expect the best chip in the next version as well.

Developers say it will be a Snapdragon 835 chip while the phone will offer a 4GB RAM. Google may dump the phone jack for the release to be replaced with stereo speakers. Google skipped the IP68 water resistance in earlier releases, but it may make a resurgence in future versions of the Pixel.
