Reliance Jio has launched JioPhone all that you should know
Reliance Jio has finally launched the most awaited feature phone of the year and that also effectively free (Security deposit of INR 1500/- has to be given). While launching the phone the Boss of Jio Mr. Ambani addressed the phone as ‘India ka smartphone’.

In his AGM speech, Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani pointed out the majority of phone users in India do not have smartphones, pegging the figure at 50 crores (out of 76 crore mobile phone users). Because of the high smartphone prices, they are unable to access the 4G-only Jio network, meaning not only are they unable to get access to high-speed Internet and free voice calls, but also that they are out of Jio's reach as a monetization opportunity. The Jio Phone is meant to address this audience, and thus is an affordable, 4G VoLTE-capable feature phone with 'smart' apps.

The device comes loaded with features like expandable SD card slot, 4-way navigation, and more. Let us take a look at the features of Jio’s new feature phone.

At first glance, you may pass on the JioPhone as another simple feature phone with the capability to support Jio’s VoLTE network. It looks like any other feature phone in the sub Rs 2,000 category with its usual boxy design and a physical keyboard.

Features of Jio Phone

Reliance JioPhone with 4G VoLTE feature phone sports a square design, along with a 2.4-inch QVGA display. It comes with an Alphanumeric keypad and a dedicated button for Torchlight. It features a headphone jack, microphone, speaker, and supports FM Radio as well.

The 4G VoLTE-enabled JioPhone supports all languages, and users can speak to the device via voice commands. The company is giving people an option to browse the Internet on the new JioPhone as well.  And yes, it comes pre-loaded with Jio apps. This means users can watch movies on the 2.4-inch screen using the JioCinema app.

The JioPhone also has the capability to stream content to any TV through MHL. When we say any TV, we also mean that the JioPhone can stream content to a LED TV as well as old CRT TVs. This makes Jio’s live TV-streaming app more relevant in the world of apps and lets its target consumers enjoy the feature of expensive flagship smartphones on a budget.

In order to broadcast their JioTV app on their television, users will have to recharge with Rs 309 per month. The monthly plan will let users watch three to four hours of video on a large screen as well. Reliance Jio has two sachet packs of Rs 24 for two days and Rs 54 per week. They come with the same benefits.
