Essential Phones are available now may have 2 years protection plan

After all the speculations and words Essential phone finally hit the market, disclosing about the availability Essential Phones posted a Blog Post. The blog announcement states the phone is available to order today through Essential, Best Buy, and Sprint. However, Essential is taking reservations and Best Buy still has a "coming soon" tag on the product listing. The Essential Phone is priced at $699, and it's unlocked, so it'll work on all major US carriers.

But what is special about the device? The question is big and many people would have been searching for answer of this, as the device runs on the Android platform where many players are already creating different stuff. To find the answer of this we will have to go back in the history.

So, if your question is what is different about the Essential Phones than answer is Andy Rubin. If you are not aware about Andy Rubin, he is the same person who helped to create Android in 2003 and went to Google to lead its mobile development when the search giant acquired Android in 2005.

So, it is quite normal that Andy Rubin Knows the subject or I would say OS like the back of his hand, and Android purists hope that his hardware will realize the full potential of the operating system. This is the major difference Essential Phones will bring for Android users.

Below are some of the key features of Essential Phones.

Specifications of Essential Phone

The titanium- and ceramic-clad Essential Phone has a solid spec sheet. First, the 5.7-inch edge-to-edge display dazzles with quad HD (2560 x 1312) resolution. It’s practically bezel-free; Rubin’s team didn’t even keep a top bezel for the 8 MP front-facing camera. Instead, the display cuts around it. It packs in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 CPU, 3040 mAh battery, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone weighs in at less than 6.5 ounces.

It offers the standard high-end smartphone features: fingerprint scanner, the usual sensors (accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope), and a USB-C port with quick-charging capability. The Essential Phone lacks a headphone jack, but it offers a magnetic connector for attaching accessories like a 360-degree camera and dock. A 3.5mm-to-USB-C adapter will be included in the box.

Out of box accessories for Essential Phone

Essential’s camera and dock are sold separately on its website, but they attach easily to the via a magnetic connector that wirelessly transfers data from phone to accessory. The camera, for instance, clicks to the device’s rear and shoots photos and videos that are automatically transferred to the phone itself. While the dock is not yet available to order, you can buy a phone and camera bundle for $749.

Essential Phones will have two years protection plan

There’s a default one year limited warranty which covers defects in the materials & workmanship, and offers express shipping for replacements. The two year plan also covers defects, but in addition to that, it covers everyday wear and tear from day one, accidental damage (falls, spills, cracks) and power surges. To top it off, the two year plan also support express shipping on replacements. The Essential website makes a huge deal about the durability of the PH-1, showing a clip of a drop test and boasting about the materials. The PH-1 sports a ceramic body with a titanium frame, both of which contrast the Aluminum and glass materials of most smartphones. This means that Essential has faith that the PH-1 can withstand a lot of abuse, but it’s nice to know that the company is still offering some sort of protection plan despite how durable this phone is. Regardless of what metal is used in the frame, the display has almost no bezels on three of the four sides, and the camera module is completely flush with the body. Both of these factors subtract significantly from fall protection.
