Recent leak reveals the launch date and price of iPhone 8 or iPhone X
As per the many reports, Apple's 10th-anniversary edition phone aka the iPhone 8 or iPhone X is reportedly already in mass production and is set to launch in September along with the iPhone 7S and the iPhone 7S Plus. The latest reports, which talk of the iPhone X and the rumors surrounding it, note that Apple has already started preparing for the iPhone 8 launch.

Apple will launch the iPhone 8 or iPhone X, possibly along with the iPhone 7s and the iPhone 7s Plus, within weeks. The iPhone 8 or iPhone X launch date that is floating around right now is September 12 but officially nothing is confirmed so far. So, either it is September 12 or probably a week or two after that. But chances are that we are going to see the new iPhone 8 in September.

Price of iPhone 8 or iPhone X

According to The New York Times, the upcoming 10th-anniversary edition of the iPhone will be priced at about $999 (£779, though it'll most likely cost more in the UK).

The article also mentions the presence of the long-rumored face scanner, which would replace the fingerprint reader for secure unlocking and mobile payments, as well as inductive charging capabilities.

The current iPhone lineup stretches up to $969 for the highest-end version of the iPhone 7 Plus, featuring 256 GB of internal storage.

Both the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus have three storage options: 32, 128, and 256 GB. The jet black and Product RED colorations eschew the 32 GB model.

AppleInsider recently reported the iPhone 8 would also feature 64, 256, and 512 GB options.

Apple usually charges an extra $100 for each size bump, which would mean a 512 GB iPhone 8 could end up costing about $1,200.

The iPhone 8 is expected to mark the first massive change in design for Apple's smartphone since 2014's iPhone 6, which moved the baseline model from 4 inches to 4.7 inches. The 5.5-inch Plus version was also introduced.

Though it was a new entry in the iPhone's "tick" cycle where a new model follows an updated S model, in this case, the iPhone 6S last year's iPhone 7 lineup largely retained the previous models' design, moving the antenna bands and tweaking the camera's outline.

Specifications of iPhone 8 or iPhone X

A report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the iPhone 8 and iPhone 7s Plus could come with 3GB RAM while the 7s would sport only 2GB RAM.

Only yesterday, we saw a report that suggested that the iPhone 8 could also have a 512GB storage model. A 64GB and 256GB models are already in tow.

A leak from GeekBar also reveals that the iPhone 8 could come with varied flash storage. The Chinese tipster predicts that the 64GB and 256GB could have Toshiba and Sandisk's flash while the 512GB could come with chips from Samsung and Hynix.

The developers have dug out from Apple's HomePod's firmware that the iPhone 8 will come with a tap to wake feature which will allow users to unlock the smartphone with a single or double tap of the finger. Similar feature has been introduced in many of the Android Phones and OnePlus is one of the examples.
