Currently, the Smartphone’s are going from the makeover phase and the biggest change that is coming in the design of the Smartphone is the bezel-less display. If you recollect, it all started with the Mi Max. Xiaomi launched the first bezel-less phone last year and now it has become a trend.

A company like Samsung, LG, Essential Phones and now as per expectation Apple with iPhone 8 is adopting the technology in their device.

As we all know that, Xiaomi is going to launch the Mi Mix 2 later this year. The company previously took to social media website Weibo to confirm that the Mi Mix 2 will be launched sometime in the second half of the year.

The Mi Mix 2 will likely have a near bezel-less screen with reports suggesting up to 93 per cent of the screen-to-body ratio like the original Mi Mix which was launched in October last year. Chances are the company may launch the Mi Mix 2 around the same time-frame.

An alleged screenshot that shows the Mi Mix 2 lock screen in action is doing the rounds of the Internet, seemingly confirming the phone may come with facial recognition as a means to unlock the device. The screenshot apparently shows the outline of a head, prompting the user to look at the phone in question to unlock it. Moreover, it is being said that the feature may be part of Xiaomi's MIUI 9, but would be exclusive to the Mi Mix 2 which means not every phone from the Chinese brand will be able to make use of the feature.

To recall, company CEO and founder Lei Jun had also recently taken to social media website Weibo to confirm that Xioami was, in fact, working with French designer Philippe Stark - once again - on the second-generation Mi Mix.

Xiaomi launched the original Mi Mix in October last year. Designed and jointly developed by Philippe Starck, the Mi Mix boasts of a full ceramic body and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.3 per cent: an almost perfect edge-to-edge to be precise. The phone does not have a forehead, just the bottom. It is mostly flat like a pancake and the display -- a 6.4-inch IPS LCD -- is curved around the corners of the top.

The phone essentially uses an ultrasonic proximity sensor through the display. It senses when you bring your phone to your ear just like an infrared proximity sensor. For the earpiece, the company has worked out an altogether different way to generate mechanical waves that can actually go through the body of the device.
