After Samsung and recently concluded iPhone X launch from Apple, now it’s time for Google show their flagship phone to the world and taking the first step towards it Google has revealed the launch date for its next flagship smartphone: the Google Pixel 2.




The company has just announced that the handset will be revealed on 4 October, exactly a year after the original Pixel and Pixel XL came out. Though Google hasn't explicitly mentioned the Pixel 2 in its new teasers, it is using the tagline, "Thinking about changing phones?"





"Stay tuned for more on 4 October," says its new Made By Google marketing site, which is inviting people to sign up for updates with an email address. Google has also released a video teasing some of the new phone's key features. It suggests the next version of the Pixel will focus on battery life, storage, camera quality.


The original didn't pick up a great deal of praise for its looks, but it features what many people consider to be the best smartphone camera ever made.

The new Google Pixel 2 will be manufactured by HTC whereas Pixel 2 XL is expected to be launched by LG and will feature an improved design that should put Google on par with the bezel-less devices launched by Samsung (the Galaxy S8 and Note 8), LG (with its V30), and Apple (with the iPhone X).






As per IBtimes report, Pixel XL 2 is said to sport a 5.99-inch QHD (2560x1440p) OLED display (made by LG) with thin bezel design language and boast AOD (Always-On-Display) feature. On the back, it is expected flaunt a dual-tone glass and metal finish similar to the 2016-series models. Also, the flagship smartphone will house 4GB RAM, 64GB/128GB storage, and a 3,000 (or more) mAh battery. Pixel 2 will also feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor and Android Oreo. Rumours are rife that Google has decided to keep a single primary camera on the back with dual-tone LED flash, EIS (Electronics Image Stabilisation) for enhanced low-light images.





Meanwhile, Google Pixel 2 will sport 4.97-inch display and is also expected to have an almost identical design language as the last year’s generic 5-inch Pixel phone. But, the successor might be devoid of a 3.5mm audio jack port, as Google intends to use the additional space for stereo speakers. Also, is expected to sport a full-HD display (1920x1080p) with AOD feature and come with 4 GB RAM and 64GB storage. Furthermore, Google Pixel 2 series customer is guaranteed to get a lifetime of unlimited cloud storage for the photos, the report added.
