OnePlus 3 & 3T is all set to get the OxygenOS 4.5 update
OnePlus is keeping the promise of supporting the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T till the Android Oreo update. After spending a bit of time fixing and updating OxygenOS for their new flagship the OnePlus 5, OnePlus is now making sure that last year’s flagship devices the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T are taken care of. This is why owners of the said devices have been getting a bunch of updates recently. We have another one rolling out, and it’s got some goodies with it.

Lift up Display, a feature previously limited to the OxygenOS beta channel has now finally made it to the stable version with this new update. That means users can now peek at their notifications simply by lifting the device up from the surface, without actually waking up the device by double tapping the screen or pressing the power button. The new update also adds a Gaming Do Not Disturb mode to help gamers better focus on their gameplay by effectively blocking out heads-up notifications and sounds. This last addition has been in the stable ROM of the OnePlus 5 since the device arrived, so it’s nice to see it get to the hands of OnePlus 3 and 3T owners.

Additionally, OnePlus has added ‘Shot on OnePlus’ wallpapers and has redesigned calling UI as well as a photo editor in Gallery. Other notable changes include the ability to show network speed in the status bar, scheduled night mode, a redesigned photo editor in Gallery and new secure box feature in the default File Manager application.

The OTA update is incremental and will start rolling out to a small percentage of users initially. OnePlus will begin a broader rollout in a few days. Meanwhile, the Chinese technology company has asked for feedback from users who were on previous versions for OnePlus 3 and 3T.
